This Dish is known the most in the North

 Tras-os-Montes (fresh, cured pork)
Used in many Portuguese dishes, mainly the Northern Region

Cozida a Portuguesa (mixed meat & veg stew)
Another National Dish

Gazpacho (smoked pork & veg)
Most popular in the South

Pasteis de Bacalhau (cod croquettes)
Popular appetizer

Manueline...




Manueline is a form of Ornamentation combining Christianity with Aquatic imagery,
reflecting the Portuguese nation seafaring past.

 Mosaics are used on Sidewalks on major Avenues.

Azulejos Tiles...



Glazed Ceramic Tiles that covers facades & interiors.
Geometric shapes and Representative patterns are used to depict religious and historical scenes.

Portuguese Architecture...


Typical House in the South
White washed, Flat roof with a Blue Trim around doors and windows etc. 


Typical House in the North
Red tubular Clay tile roof, thick Granite walls and big hearths in the kitchen.
